Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps 2022

Audition Information

Thanks for registering for the Raiders.
This page is your audition hub. Return here to download the latest audition materials, register for Experience Days, and submit your video auditions.

A video audition is only required if you will not attend an in-person Experience Day. However, by providing a video audition in advance, you have the opportunity to receive feedback from staff, get a head start in the placement process, and be a part of the corps earlier.

Video Audition Requirements

Video auditions have a rolling due date. We will accept qualified auditions as they come in, but only while a section has remaining openings. In most cases, successful video auditionees will be invited to attend a convenient Experience Day, Membership Weekend, Callback, or Rehearsal Weekend. In some cases, successful video auditionees who wish to participate once we move in for the summer will be required to participate virtually.

We want you to feel comfortable for your auditions. Review the requirements below and prepare a video using your webcam or mobile phone. Upload the video to YouTube and set the privacy option to “Unlisted.” Make note of the URL and return here.

Prepare a solo piece or excerpt. If you have prepared material for an audition previously, whether for your school or for a regional or state ensemble, you may use that piece. All instruments may perform an excerpt from a prior show on the relevant instrument. The video should feature the best example of your range and expertise and should be no longer than three minutes.

Prepare a solo piece or excerpt on flag. The excerpt should be 32 counts and may be from a show you’ve performed or work you’ve choreographed. The video should showcase your flag work as well as body and dance.

If you would also like to be considered for rifle or saber, please also include an addition 32 counts on either or both.

To audition for conductor, the Raiders staff highly recommends an in-person audition in addition to your video submission is highly recommended. Your video should include three minutes of conducting a live ensemble. If conducting a live ensemble is not possible, you may conduct to a recording of a three-minute excerpt of any marching performance.

Your video must also include a personal message in which you introduce yourself and talk about your leadership experience.
